What are State Securities (SS)?

It is a form of state debt, representing a short, medium or long-term loan agreement the value of which is expressed in the national currency or in another legal currency, which intervenes between the Republic of Moldova as debtor and natural or legal persons as creditors.

Which regulations govern the SS activity?

  • NBM Regulation on the placement, trading and redemption of government securities in the form of book entries no. 170/2018
  • Central Depository rules, approved by the Supervisory Board of the CD no. 25 of 25.07.2018
  • The Instruction of the Ministry of Finance regarding the placement, trading and redemption of Government bonds with floating / fixed interest no. 29 from 14.02.2019

Who issues State Securities(SS)?

  • The issuance of the SS is carried out by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova.

What types of state securities are available on the market?

  • Treasury bills (T-bills) - SS issued with discount and redeemed at their face value at maturity, with a circulation term of up to one yea
  • State bonds (SB) - SS issued for a term of 1 to 7 years, which entitle their holders to obtain the face value at maturity and to obtain interest on a semi-annual basis. State bonds may be issued at discount, face value or premium

  • Please visit the nearest subsidiary or the central office of our Bank with a valid identity card
  • Sign the contract on delivery of SS market services
  • Deposit the amount of your investment and commission into the account
